
Ronald N. Cerny
President & Chief Executive Officer
Ron has been President and CEO of Connor Sport Court International since March, 2006. Previously, he had been President and CEO of American Electronic Components, Inc. (AEC), a highly successful automotive sensor company that was recently sold by The Riverside Company to Siemens. Under his leadership, AEC substantially increased its industry leadership position and annual sales while successfully diversifying its business. Before assuming that role, Mr. Cerny served as President of The J.M. Ney Company, a vertically integrated manufacturer of custom engineered components. Under Ron, the company was a Connecticut “Fast 50” award recipient two years in a row, recognizing Ney as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the state. He uses a dynamic management style that consistently motivates individuals, departments, divisions and companies to record-breaking performance levels through a shared vision with an empowered team approach. Ron earned a BS in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA from Villanova University.
Randall Petersen
Vice President of Finance
Chief Financial Officer
Randy Petersen has served as Chief Financial Officer of SCI for over 10 years, and has over 30 years of relevant industry experience. Prior to joining SCI in 1993, Randy spent over 20 years in public accounting. Randy holds a BS in accounting from the University of Utah and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Jon Isaacs
Vice President and General Manager – Connor Sports Flooring
Mr. Isaacs has 15 years of experience with Connor and has been responsible for the national and international sales team for 8 years. Prior to this position, Jon was Connor's Central Regional Manager for 7 years. He has worked with numerous high profile customers including the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Purdue University, DePaul University and the University of Cincinnati. He has a strong understanding of the industry and solid relationships with customers and the Connor dealer network. Prior to joining Connor, Jon was in sales management for Koch Industries ($80 Billion) in their sports surface division. Mr. Isaacs earned a full athletic scholarship for Tennis and received a Bachelors degree in Marketing/Management from Missouri State University.
Andrew Gettig
Vice President - International
Mr. Gettig began his career with SCI in 1991, bringing a wealth of international knowledge and experience. He was awarded a YMCA scholarship to work and study in Sweden from 1982 to 1984. In addition, Andrew joined the Peace Corps and worked 2 years in the West Indies as a Youth and Sports Specialist. From 1991 to 1994 he was the Volleyball and Special Events Manager at SCI, part of the team responsible for domestic sales strategies as Sport Court became a player in the sports flooring business. Between 1994 and 1999, Andrew founded a Sport Court dealership in Central Illinois, growing it into one of the most successful revenue producers in the country. In 1999, he was asked to rejoin headquarters to develop and oversee international business. Mr. Gettig holds a BA in Recreation and Leisure Services from Springfield College and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Ohio University.
J.R. Buerger
Vice President, Operations
J.R. joined Connor Sport Court in February 2007. J.R. and his family relocated from Nashville, TN where he was Operations Manager for Moll Industries, an international manufacturer for the appliance industry. After attending West Virginia Wesleyan College, J.R. began his career in Management in 1992 at Del-Met Corporation, an international supplier to the automotive industry. He held numerous management positions such as Plant Manager, V.P. of Sales & Marketing, and General Manager at Del-Met Corp. During his time at Del-Met Corp., he gained extensive experience in plastic injection molding, QS9000 / TS16949 Quality Systems and international purchasing. During his time there Del-Met received General Motors World Wide Supplier of the year seven years in a row. J.R. has over 15 years experience in the automotive industry, and has a proven track record for increasing productivity while decreasing costs, and improving product quality and customer satisfaction. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management of Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University.
Joe Ure
Vice President, Sales - Residential and Distributor
After attending the University of Utah Mr. Ure began working with Sport Court in 1978, the same year he started Joe Ure Construction. In 30 years with Sport Court, he as been instrumental in helping to build the business as a consultant, trainer and a Dealer in the Sport Court Network. He holds General Contractors licenses in several Western States. He became a Distributor for SCI in 1991 and in 2005 he sold his Distributorship back to the parent company and became a consultant for CSCI as well as managing a division of the company. His many award and honors include Salesperson of the Year, Overall Sales Performance of the Year and Market Penetration Leader. He estimates that he has personally built over 600 courts, putting greens and gyms and has overseen the completion of over 4000 Sport Court projects. Currently, he is working with the Sport Court Residential Distribution Network involved in distribution sales support and training, Dealer recruitment, and business development.
David F. Smith
Director – National Accounts
David came to Connor Sport Court in 2003 after spending 12 years in the recreation industry, co-running ExerPlay, Inc., a commercial playground equipment company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was there that David learned firsthand the importance of providing people with great products and unwavering service. As the Director of Connor Sport Court’s National Accounts division, David is working to ensure that the company’s national customers are provided with the industry’s best products and the service needed to help them succeed in their businesses. David earned a BA in Communications, and an MBA from the University of New Mexico.
Joel McCausland
Director- Sport Court Products
Mr. McCausland joined Sport Court in August 2003. He manages the Sport Court Product Lines, working with vendors, the sales network, and Sport Court Operations to ensure a reliable supply of quality products for backyard sports and recreation. Prior to joining Sport Court, Joel had devoted most of his career to organizational design and improvement, and brings that training and development focus to his work with Sport Court.
As a Sr. Consultant and Designer with Franklin Covey and the Center for Management and Organization Effectiveness, Joel served as a leadership trainer and consultant to such clients as Pfizer, Boeing, Delta, Cargill, and Wells Fargo. He is the author of two books on coaching and team effectiveness, and has worked with such leaders in the training and development field as Stephen R. Covey, Hyrum Smith, Zig Ziglar, Ken Blanchard, and Dr. Denis Waitley.
Jeff Morton
Marketing Manager
Mr. Morton has been with Connor Sport Court since 2003 where he managed the Promotional and Events division of the company. During that time, he was instrumental in creating a new relationship with the NCAA basketball championships and maintaining Connor Sport Court’s contracts with the NBA, NCAA Volleyball, Nike and USA Volleyball. In 2005, Mr. Morton was awarded MVP of the year for his work managing his division. Over the years, Jeff has developed a comprehensive knowledge of our industry and in 2007 he began managing the marketing department for Connor Sport Court. Mr. Morton holds a B.S. in Business Marketing from the University of Utah.
